How I’ve Made Pocket Cash Working Online

At points in time, I have made money while working online. I’ve had bigger jobs (like search engine evaluator and online program managers where I worked for companies doing contract work) but I have also done several things like surveys that earned me chump change. I don’t mean like pennies, though. I mean chump change like not enough to pay the bills, but enough to afford some luxuries like fancy coffee or a dessert the next time we went out to dinner.

What’s nice about the sites I am going to recommend is that you can do them while caring for children. You can leave and come back to these jobs without being penalized.

Over the last few years, I have found several ways to make money at home by workign online. None of these are a full-time job, but they are easy enough to make some pocket cash while also watching your kids. Check out how I have made money through legitimate companies online. quirkyandthenerd.com

Surveys Can Be Worth It

Sometimes, it seems like surveys might not be worth it. There are a lot of companies that rip you off. Maybe they just take your information to sell or maybe they give you surveys, but never end up paying you for them. I have found a couple that are legitimate that I would love to direct you to.

Survey Savvy

Survey Savvy is one of the few survey sites that actually rewards you in money, not in points you have to redeem. Typically, their surveys are worth $0.50 or $1, but sometimes you can find them for even more. I just did one the other day for $5!

This was one of the first survey sites I signed up for and I stick with them. Sign up here for Survey Savvy.

i-Say

Ipsos/i-say is probably my favorite survey site. They have great surveys, fun prizes, and even drawings for prizes. You can earn entries into drawings without having to be accepted to a survey. I’d love to refer anyone who would like to try this survey site. Put your name and address in the box below and I will refer you. (This box is only for referring you to the i-Say survey site. I won’t send you anything besides the survey invitation if you fill out this contact form.)

American Customer Opinion

I love this company because I have done a lot of product tests through them. It is always fun to get a new product to try to give your opinions on. Andrew may laugh, but we have had some fun testing products. American Customer Opinion is a great company that has also provided fun product tests for us.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks was something I resisted signing up for but I’m not sure why. Once I had some time, the points really added up. You can earn swagbucks in a ton of different ways. I usually do the surveys and I also use their search engine (which randomly gives you swagbucks as you search.) I’ve even won a drawing for $10 PayPal cash once. This is one way to work online without it feeling like working online.

Now that I work full-time, I don’t devote a ton of time to Swagbucks, but I still do surveys occasionally. Sign up here for Swagbucks.

Crowdtap

Crowdtap is one of my favorite sites. They partner with companies to get feedback on new products and advertising. I have been able to test products by doing fun things like giving free samples to friends, throwing parties, and trying out recipes. Crowdtap pays with Amazon gift cards, which is great for picking up gifts for friends or treating yourself to a new book or shirt.

What sorts of online work do you use to make chump change?

Ibotta is a great one! I have used that before and made a little cash. I’ve never tried Fiverr though.

I’ve found surveys is one of those things where I don’t check my points/money earned often because it does take a little while to accumulate. Instead, I like to be surprised when all of a sudden I have like $100 sitting in there!

Drop me a line!
