Anyone who knows me knows that I am totally a Christmas fan. I wait all year for the holiday season and then I decorate to the max while watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate. So other holidays pale in comparison for me. Now that I have a baby, though, it is important to me to make all holidays special in some way. Easter was no exception. I put up some Easter decorations and even found an Easter special on DVD at Target. But as with most things, I had a bad mom moment along with some good mom moments.
Good Mom Moment: Our neighborhood hosted an egg hunt. We donated a few little prizes to put in the eggs and took Maclaine to hunt for eggs on Saturday. Once she understood what we were doing, she loved it! She ran around the park and when she would spot one, she’d point her little finger out and shout “Eh!” (which is her all-purpose sound at the moment.)
Bad Mom Moment: I didn’t make Mac an Easter basket. And I feel a little bad about it. But my parents and Andrew’s parents both gave her one and I didn’t think she needed a third one. Next year, I will make her one. She will probably care and understand a little more next year.
Good Mom Moment: We had another egg hunt in Grandma and Grandpa’s living room. Mac had a great time hunting down all of the eggs. She also got to try raspberry jello for the first time and sucked it down like there was no tomorrow.
